Questions.
Everything you need to know about creating, publishing and managing eBay and Vinted listings with Listing Engine.
General
What is Listing Engine?
+
Listing Engine is an AI-powered listing and crosslisting tool built for resellers. Upload your product photos and Listing Engine can generate titles, descriptions, categories and item specifics, helping you create listings faster.
Which marketplaces does Listing Engine support?
+
Listing Engine currently supports publishing to eBay and Vinted, with additional marketplace integrations planned.
Is Listing Engine designed for UK sellers?
+
Yes. Listing Engine is currently built primarily for UK resellers, with workflows designed around eBay UK and Vinted UK.
What does Listing Engine's AI create?
+
Listing Engine analyses your product photos and uses AI to create listing information including titles, descriptions, categories, condition information and relevant item specifics.
You can review and edit the generated information before publishing.
Can I edit listings before they are published?
+
Yes. AI-generated listings are created as drafts first, allowing you to review and edit the photos, title, description, category, condition, item specifics and other listing information before publishing.
Can I create listings in bulk?
+
Yes. Bulk Create allows you to group photos into multiple items and generate multiple listings together, significantly reducing the time required to create larger batches of inventory.
Creating & Publishing Listings
How do I create a listing?
+
Go to Create Listing, add your SKU, quantity, selling platform, photos, listing type and price. Set your offers and eBay policies where applicable, add any extra measurements or keywords you want the AI to use, then press Save and Create.
For a full walkthrough, visit our Getting Started guide.
How does Bulk Create work?
+
Bulk Create allows you to upload a batch of photos, group them into individual products and allocate listing information such as SKU, price and quantity.
Once all of your products have been allocated, press Create Drafts and Listing Engine will generate the listings together.
Can I publish a listing to both eBay and Vinted?
+
Yes. Listings can be published to eBay, Vinted, or both marketplaces, depending on where you want the item to be available for sale.
Can I publish multiple listings at once?
+
Yes. From the Listings page you can select multiple listings and perform supported actions in bulk, including publishing multiple listings together.
What is SKU Seq in Bulk Create?
+
SKU Seq automatically increases your SKU as you allocate each new item during Bulk Create. For example, if your first SKU is 1001, the next allocated item can automatically become 1002, followed by 1003 and so on.
Should I complete optional eBay item specifics?
+
We recommend completing as many relevant item specifics as possible. Providing accurate item specifics gives eBay more structured information about your product and can help buyers find relevant listings through search and filters.
Does Listing Engine help with eBay SEO?
+
Yes. Listing Engine has been expertly trained to create optimised titles using relevant product keywords identified from your photos and product information.
Listing Engine also automatically fills in relevant item specifics, giving eBay more structured information about your product and helping improve visibility in search and filters.
Can I give the AI extra information about an item?
+
Yes, when using Create Listing for a single item. You can provide additional information such as measurements, product details or keywords for the AI to use alongside your photos when generating the listing.
This option is not currently available in Bulk Create.
eBay
How do I connect my eBay account?
+
Go to Settings → Integrations and select Connect for eBay. You will be taken to eBay to log in and authorise Listing Engine.
Once connected, return to Integrations, click the cog and add in your inventory location.
Next, go to Settings → Preferences and complete the eBay configuration.

Can I use Listing Engine with a private or personal eBay account?
+
Yes. Private or personal eBay accounts can use Listing Engine, although you may first need to setup your eBay Business Policies before creating a listing.
What are eBay Business Policies?
+
eBay Business Policies store your Payment, Shipping and Returns settings. Listing Engine uses these policies when publishing listings to eBay. If required, you can create them from Account Settings → Business Policies on the desktop version of eBay.
Why aren't my new eBay Business Policies showing in Listing Engine?
+
Newly created eBay Business Policies may not appear immediately while eBay processes them.
Once created, go to Settings → Preferences → eBay Configuration and press Refresh to fetch the latest policies from eBay.
If they still do not appear, wait a little longer and try refreshing again. In some cases, eBay can take up to 24 hours to make newly created policies available.
Can Listing Engine publish directly to eBay?
+
Yes. Once your eBay account is connected and your listing is ready, Listing Engine can publish it directly to your connected eBay account.
How do I reconnect my eBay account?
+
If your eBay connection needs refreshing, disconnect eBay from Settings → Integrations, make sure you are logged into the correct eBay account, and then connect it again.
If you continue to experience connection problems, visit our Support page for help.
Vinted
How do I connect Vinted to Listing Engine?
+
Listing Engine connects to Vinted using our Google Chrome extension. Install the Listing Engine extension from the Chrome Web Store, enable it, open Vinted in its own Chrome tab and log in to your Vinted account.
Why does Vinted use a Chrome extension?
+
The Listing Engine Chrome extension allows Listing Engine to interact with Vinted while you are logged into your Vinted account in Chrome. Unlike the eBay integration, the Vinted connection requires the extension and an active Vinted browser session.
Does Listing Engine need my Vinted password?
+
No. Your Vinted password is not shared with Listing Engine. You log into Vinted normally through Vinted's own website.
Does Vinted need to stay open for Listing Engine to work?
+
Yes. When publishing to Vinted or using Vinted inventory synchronisation:
- Google Chrome must be running;
- the Listing Engine extension must be enabled;
- Vinted must be open in its own Chrome tab; and
- you must be logged into your Vinted account.
If any of these conditions are not met, the Vinted connection will pause.
Why isn't Vinted publishing or syncing?
+
First check that you are using desktop Google Chrome and that:
- the Listing Engine extension is installed and enabled;
- Vinted is open in its own browser tab;
- you are logged into the correct Vinted account; and
- there are no CAPTCHA, login checks or verification requests waiting on Vinted.
Once checked, refresh both the Vinted and Listing Engine tabs.
How do I update the Listing Engine Chrome extension?
+
Chrome normally updates extensions automatically.
If you are experiencing Vinted publishing or synchronisation problems, make sure the Listing Engine extension is enabled and that Chrome has installed the latest available version from the Chrome Web Store.
Inventory Sync & Automatic Delisting
How does inventory synchronisation work?
+
When the same item is listed on both eBay and Vinted, Listing Engine helps keep the listings synchronised.
If an item sells on one marketplace, Listing Engine will automatically remove the corresponding listing from the other marketplace, helping reduce the risk of selling the same item twice.
What happens when an item sells on eBay or Vinted?
+
A sale on one marketplace triggers the listing on the other marketplace to be automatically delisted.
For Vinted synchronisation to operate, the Listing Engine Chrome extension must be enabled and you must be logged into Vinted in an open Chrome tab.
What happens if my Vinted connection is paused?
+
If Chrome is closed, the Vinted tab is closed, you log out of Vinted or the Listing Engine extension is disabled, the Vinted connection will pause.
Enable the extension, open Vinted and log back into your account to restore the connection.
What is the difference between Withdraw and Delete?
+
Use Withdraw when you want to remove a live listing from a marketplace but keep the listing saved in Listing Engine.
Use Delete when you want to permanently remove the listing from Listing Engine. Deleting a listing from Listing Engine does not remove the live listing from eBay or Vinted.
If you want to remove an item from both Listing Engine and the marketplace, withdraw it first and then delete it.
Description Templates
What are Description Templates?
+
Description Templates allow you to control how your Listing Engine descriptions are formatted. Listing Engine includes four preset description templates as well as a Custom/Fixed template.
Can I use my own description template?
+
Yes. The Custom/Fixed template allows you to add your own fixed description content instead of using one of the preset Listing Engine templates.
How do I change my description template?
+
Go to Settings → Preferences and select your preferred description template. You can choose one of the Listing Engine preset templates or your Custom/Fixed template.
You can still review and edit the description of individual listings before publishing.
Does changing my description template affect existing drafts?
+
No. Changing your description template only affects new drafts created after the change.
Existing drafts and previously created listings will keep their current description.
Photos
Which photo format should I use?
+
Listing Engine supports standard image formats as well as HEIC photos from iPhones. For the fastest processing experience, we recommend using JPEG/JPG images where possible.
Does Listing Engine support iPhone HEIC photos?
+
Yes. HEIC photos are supported, but they may take longer to process than JPEG images.
For faster processing, you can change your iPhone camera setting to: Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible. New photos will then be saved as JPEG.
Credits & Pricing
How much does Listing Engine cost?
+
New users receive 50 free listing credits. After your free credits, additional credits are purchased in packs, starting from 100 credits for £20. That works out at £0.20 per listing, with no monthly subscription required.
What happens if a listing fails to generate?
+
If Listing Engine fails to generate your listing, the credit used for that generation will be automatically refunded to your account.
What does one credit create?
+
Each draft listing created by Listing Engine uses one listing credit.
Do Listing Engine credits expire?
+
No. Listing Engine credits do not expire, so you can purchase credits and use them whenever you need them.
Is there a monthly subscription?
+
No. Listing Engine uses a pay-as-you-go credit system with no monthly subscription. You can purchase additional credit packs from your account whenever you need them.
Do I need a credit card for the free trial?
+
No. New accounts receive 50 free credits and no credit card is required to start using Listing Engine.
Troubleshooting & Support
Why won't my listing publish?
+
First check any error message shown by Listing Engine.
For eBay, make sure your account is connected and that the required Payment, Shipping and Returns policies are available.

Make sure:
- you are using desktop Google Chrome;

- there are no CAPTCHA or verification requests waiting for you.
Refresh the Vinted and Listing Engine tabs after completing these checks.
My eBay connection isn't working. What should I do?
